Founded in 1971, we believe that the quality of your health care should not depend on how much money you make, what language you speak or what your health is, because everyone deserves great care.POSITION SUMMARYThe Director of Accounting will oversee the accounting and payroll departments, supporting the Vice President (VP), Finance, with in-depth knowledge of financial management principles and exhibiting expert knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The leader in this position will lead the Accounting team and is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining management information and reporting systems related to the organization's financial, accounting and reporting functions. Delivers operational reports and recommendations to the VP, Finance and Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO), as well as business leaders at HealthPoint.As a key leader of HealthPoint, the Director of Accounting creates and fosters a culture of inclusivity, respect, understanding, compassion and empowerment in service to the well-being and growth of its patients, communities, and employees.

  • Supervise and oversee all accounting function including monthly financial reporting, cash and investment accounts, accounts payable and payroll.
  • Maintain current and pending knowledge of GAAP, HRSA, and other Federal legal and regulatory requirements, and ensures systems are configured correctly to ensure compliance.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory and internal control requirements. Accountable for oversight and implementation.
  • Oversee the organization's system of accounts and ensures that accounting records are prepared and maintained for all organizational transactions and assets, including grant accounting and tracking.
  • Assure protection of the organization's assets through internal controls, internal auditing and proper accounting procedures in accordance with GAAP.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis and the VP of Finance in the financial, strategic planning and administration of the organization.
  • Ensure successful completion of the annual audit. Ensures that schedules required by external auditors are prepared accurately and in a timely manner, including the process for 401k and 403b audit and filings.
  • Manage all insurance matters, including annual renewal process, contract review for insurance requirements and ensuring appropriate coverage is always maintained.
  • Ensure successful completion and compliance with all governmental grant and tax filings.
  • Prepare operating data and special reports as required, including interim financial statements.
  • Lead and conduct accounting operations using HealthPoint's LEAN Management System methodologies to drive continuous improvement through a structured process to identify and eliminate waste, determine process improvements, and implement and measure impact of changes. Coaches staff to use tools in their standard work.
  • Manage and supervise the activities of the accounting department staff to ensure their work meets goals and performance objectives. Such duties include hiring, training, supervising, performance management, employee relations, recognition and talent management of accounting staff.
  • Maintain good attendance, is punctual, and works full scheduled shift as a condition of employment.

    • Maintain Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration from a four-year college or university
    • Five (2) to eight (8) years related experience
    • Two (2) years experience in a healthcare organization
    • Five (5) years' experience managing an accounting department
    • Five (5) years' of staff supervisory experience
    • CPA preferredIf you know about the following it's a plus:
      • Federally Qualified Healthcare Center experience a plus
