$30.77 - $37.00/hour. The posted salary reflects the full pay range
for this position. Offers made to qualified candidates will be made
within this range and will be determined by various factors,
including knowledge, skills, experience, qualifications, location,
and other factors that would be critical to success in this role.
Position Overview: We are looking for a talented Maintenance
Technician II to join our Facilities Management department. The
Maintenance Technician II is responsible for completing apartment
and property maintenance tasks at various Bellwether properties,
such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, renovation projects, and
non-routine unit preparations. Our Facilities Management team is
essential to Bellwether's mission to create, maintain, and
strengthen our communities and provide vital housing to those
qualifying under the Low-Income Tax Credit Program. Work Schedule:
Onsite, Monday - Friday 8:00 am-4:00 pm or 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
Rotating after-hours as needed. The final schedule is to be
determined by the supervisor. Building Information: Renton Sage
Apartments is a 284-unit, garden-style property located in Renton.
The property is comprised of Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and
Bonds, WSHFC, and Amazon funding. Your Impact: Meet regularly with
Property Managers & Maintenance Supervisor to review work orders,
unit turn schedules, routine repairs, and general property needs.
Apply fair housing guidelines when entering occupied units and
interacting with residents. Maintain tenant and staff
confidentiality. Apply skilled knowledge of electrical, plumbing,
carpentry, and appliance repair to diagnose and complete minor or
routine maintenance and repairs within homes and throughout the
property. Prepare vacant units for re-renting in a timely manner.
Communicate material needs on an ongoing basis with the Maintenance
Supervisor. Ensure manufacturer and Bellwether standards,
recommended usage, and application of workplace materials. Consult
the Bellwether safety manual, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and
Bellwether employee handbook for guidance, and follow safety
procedures when performing assigned duties. Respond to emergencies,
initiating contact with Emergency Services when appropriate. Be
available to initiate maintenance emergency actions, cleaning up
debris, water, etc., and contact the Maintenance and Property
Managers. Safeguard Bellwether building and unit keys in your
possession, referring access requests to building managers and the
Facilities Management department. Represent Bellwether Housing in
your own work, and in the work you manage. Attend scheduled staff
meetings and training/conferences when assigned. Ensure facilities
are in proper working order and safe by inspecting plumbing,
electrical, and other mechanical systems. Share in after-hours
maintenance on-call duties with other maintenance staff. Assist in
maintaining the cleanliness of building grounds and common areas.
Ability to work a non-traditional schedule as required by the
property's needs. Performs any additional duties assigned by the
Maintenance Supervisor/Manager and Property Manager. Who You Are:
Able to travel and work at various Bellwether properties as needed.
Possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license, the
appropriate amount of automobile insurance, and a safe driving
record, in order to utilize a personal or Company-owned vehicle in
the performance of job duties associated with this position. At
least two years of maintenance experience in the property
management industry or a directly related field. Experience in
completing assigned tasks within established time limits.
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently or as part
of a team. Highly organized, capable of taking initiative as
needed, ensuring all work is completed and of high quality. Able to
complete strenuous work, bend, reach, stoop, or stand for extended
periods, up to four hours at a time. Possess the physical strength
and aptitude to safely operate hand and power tools, such as
drills, hammers, snow shovels, etc. Ability to lift and carry up to
50 lbs. Able to work safely in all weather conditions. Exceptional
customer service skills. Ability to cope with and defuse situations
involving escalated residents. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must maintain professional appearance and comply with prescribed
uniform policy. Utilize basic technology using the maintenance work
order system, email, and timecards on a phone and/or computer.
Ability to read, write, and speak English. Basic carpentry,
plumbing, and electrical repair knowledge. HVAC/boiler operations
experience or certification. Act as a mentor to other team members.
Ability to complete work with minimal supervision. High school
diploma or equivalent experience. Technical/Mechanical
