Job Description:

Position: Lead Pre School TeacherSalary range: $38,000-$51,000$2,500 sign on bonusGpac has partnered with a wonderful organization focused on working with families to build healthy foundations for their children. The early stages of life are critically important, which is why we are looking for an outstanding individual ready to offer high quality education, and over-the-top support to the children.This individual will be creating lesson plans, and developing a daily schedule of classroom activities; keeping records of children's progress throughout the year. Interacting positively with all children to support all types of learning and emotional needs in a multicultural environment. As a developing professional, in-service trainings are required along with staff meetings, and 10 hours of MERIT approved training throughout the year.Other requirements include assisting with serving of snacks and meals; facilitate mealtime service and conversation. Teach and oversee health habits in the classroom, i.e. hand washing, tooth brushing, etc.; administering first aid as needed. Along with checking indoor and outdoor environments for safety hazards. Collaborating with families to ensure smooth transitions from pre-school to Kindergarten. This individual will work in collaboration with Mental Health Professionals as needed as well as supervise and train assistants.Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of early childhood education or child development and one year of successful work experience with adults/parents and young children OR Associates degree in the same and two years successful work experience in a preschool, childcare or kindergarten setting OR Valid Washington State Elementary Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education or Special Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for preschool children
  • Demonstrate a desire to identify, gain knowledge in and awareness of individual experiences and societal impacts of oppression and trauma that impact families and children
  • Ability to communicate effectively and relate positively to students, parents, staff and volunteers in a diverse environment
  • Ability to adjust to varied situations, demands and new instructional concepts
  • Ability to attend evening meetings and occasionally visit parents in their homes
  • Ability to supervise students on regularly scheduled field tripsCertifications (required within 90 days of employment):
    • First aid and CPR certification
    • Food and Beverage Handler's Permit
    • TB screening
    • MMR and COVID Vaccine
