Boeing Commercial Airlines has an exciting opportunity for Senior Flight Deck Program Operations Engineer (Level 4) to join our Flight Deck Program Operations team located in Renton or Everett, Washington.

We are seeking an experienced engineer to operate in the role of 737 Model Lead, supporting 737 (sustaining) Program Operations in representation of BCA Flight Deck Engineering.

In this role, the successful candidate will:

  • Apply understanding of pilot interaction and operations of the airplanes' systems.
  • Manage conflicting priorities while balancing the daily tasking of engineers on their team.
  • Utilize the broad knowledge of aircrew operations to support the various engineering groups for aircraft systems, avionics, and flight controls.
  • Employ an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex systems.
  • Evaluate customer/operational needs to define and coordinate input to all the different systems represented on the 737.
  • Develop plans and manage performance on standard program management deliverables such as risks and issues, schedules, SOW estimates and Earned Value.

    Skills and abilities needed for success in the Flight Deck Engineering 737 Model Lead role include:
    • The ability to establish consensus across diverse teams and stakeholders
    • Flexibility in managing regular daily tasks along with emergent issues
    • Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse engineering team in order to establish a consensus on complex technical issues
    • Demonstrated ability to present Flight Deck Design and Crew Operations issues to all levels of Boeing management in a manner that provides understanding and enables others to make informed decisions.

      This position is expected to be 100% onsite with options for virtual days based on statement of work and with management approval. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

      The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. - 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

      Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
      • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
      • 3 or more years of experience in engineering classification
      • Verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders


        Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
        • 2+ years' experience on 737 Commercial Airplane Program and/or Flight Deck Engineering
        • Engineering degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering with experience in these fields
        • Flight operations experience
        • Pilot certification or experience

          Typical Education/Experience:

          Bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

          Relocation:

          This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

          Summary pay range for senior level: $128,350- $173,650
