BR&T Manufacturing Technology Integration Commercial (MTI-C) is looking for a Materials and Processes Metals Engineer to join the 737 Airframe Materials & Processes Engineering team in Renton, Washington.

We are looking for a broad range of experience including Associate, Mid-Level, or Senior, Metals Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Defines requirements and provides materials and process support used in the used in the design, manufacture and/or maintenance of airframe structure. Integrates new technologies as appropriate
  • Reviews materials and process specifications and other engineering documents used to control design, certification and production of airframe structure, wings, and empennage
  • Address challenges for metals technology. Conducts analysis to characterize performance or determine reasons for failure of tools, materials, parts or processes
  • Approves test reports and manufacturing planning used to qualify suppliers for critical aircraft parts such as forgings and castings
  • Assists with identifying impacts of non-conformances associated with materials and processes and corrective/preventative actions for future avoidance
  • Conducts engineering lab analysis to help determine cause and corrective action of fractured aircraft parts
  • Interacts with multiple engineering teams, design, stress, quality, manufacturing, suppliers and airline customers to solve a variety to materials and process challenges throughout the full life cycle of the airplane
  • Develops and implements lessons learned regarding materials and processes used to enhance the full life cycle of Boeing products
  • Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements. Incorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research, design and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

    This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
    • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
    • Experience with Technology Implementation
    • Experience with metallic materials and metallic processes Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
      • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
      • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
      • Bachelor degree or higher in an Engineering related field
      • Experience with reviewing engineering drawings in PDM and CATIA
      • Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions
      • Prior drawing authority for a commercial or military airplane program Typical Education/Experience:

        Associate (Level 2)

        Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

        Mid-Level (Level 3)

        Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

        Senior (Level 4)

        Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

        Relocation:

        This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

        Summary Pay Plan Associate Level: $82,450 - $111,550

        Summary Pay Plan Mid-Level: $102,000 - $138,000

        Summary Pay Plan Senior Level: $124,950 - $169,050
