offer opportunities for a Skin Repair Mechanic to join our
Fabrication team in Everett and Renton, Washington. Join our
dedicated team as a Skin Repair Mechanic, where you will
independently set up and operate advanced repair equipment to
address scratches, dents, and blemishes on clad aluminum skins,
ensuring compliance with stringent quality specifications. Your
ability to interpret blueprints and work orders will guide you in
executing precise repairs, while your proficiency with precision
measuring tools will guarantee that every detail meets our high
standards. You will collaborate with engineering to implement
thermal and cold spray processes, monitor temperatures, and perform
necessary surface treatments such as anodizing and alodining. If

Independently set up and operate hand routers, sanders, and grit
blasting tools to repair exterior airplane clad aluminum skins
according to specifications. - Follow engineering dispositions to
repair scratches, dents, mars, and blemishes on aircraft skins
after assembly. - Use precision measuring tools and equipment to
ensure quality requirements are met during the repair process. -
Interpret and work with blueprints, work orders, and other
documentation to guide repair tasks. - Perform anodizing,
alodining, masking, and cleaning as required for surface
preparation. - Set up thermal spray equipment, adjusting gas flow
rates, current, voltage, and aluminum powder flow rates as
necessary. - Install thermocouplers and monitor temperatures during
plasma spray operations to ensure compliance with specifications. -
Obtain and maintain required certifications for operating equipment
and performing repairs. - Coordinate with production leads and
engineering for assistance with aircraft part removal and repair
processes. - Remove surface damage using appropriate tools and shop
aids, troubleshooting issues as they arise. - Prepare areas for
thermal/cold spray processes by cleaning surfaces according to
process documentation. - Mask off areas to be repaired with Mylar
tape and attach pyrometers to monitor temperature during
operations. - Fair-in thermal/cold spray repairs to ensure
smoothness and contour, using sanding and buffing compounds as
needed. - Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance
with safety regulations and use personal protective equipment. -
Operate material handling equipment, such as booms and lifts,
ensuring safety checks are performed before use. Physical Demands
and Potential Hazards: - Perform physical tasks that include
lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs. - Engage in
various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting,
lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling,
crouching, and squatting. - Work in environments that may involve
contact with metals, solvents, and coolants. - Operate in proximity
to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping
hazards. - Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric
conditions. - Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes,
hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties. This position is
expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required
to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position
must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US
Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person”
includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Qualifications - 3 years of experience handling and disposing of
hazardous materials per government regulations. - 3 years of
experience of polishing, burnishing and buffing techniques used to
remove scratches, gouges, nicks and dents in skin quality material.
- 3 years of experience reading and interpreting engineering
drawings. - 3 years of experience using precision measuring tools.
- 3 years of experience using computers and learning new computer
systems. Preferred Qualifications: - Aviation or aerospace
experience. - Experience working from heights. Typical Education &
Experience: High school graduate or GED preferred. Relocation: -
