Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Surgical Technologist - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Start Date: 08/06/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Required Certifications BLS, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Verification Shift Notes 7a-5:30p. 4-10 hour shifts call Experience & Required Skills - 2 years minimum experience - Must have strong orthopedic and endoscopy experience - Well-rounded CST skillset - Robotics experience not required OR Tech – Unit Notes 50-Mile Radius Rule Applies Required Certifications - Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - Basic Life Support (BLS) Unit Overview - Number of Suites: - 4 OR Suites (typically 3 running daily) - 1 Endoscopy Suite - Average Daily Case Volume: 20–21 cases/day - Common Case Types: - Orthopedic (heavy ortho) – 2 dedicated ortho rooms daily: hips, knees, shoulders - Ortho Spine – including TLIF - General Surgery – hernias, lap chole - OB/GYN – hysteroscopy, hysterectomy - Urology – cysto, prostate - ENT – peds cases 2x/month (tubes, tonsils, adenoids) - Endoscopy Procedures Staffing & Leadership - Charge Nurse: Present in OR – assists with flow, charges, and serves as backup - Coordinator: Available as needed - House Supervisor: Not present in the OR Scheduling & Shifts - Shift Structure: 4 x 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM) - Scheduling Type: Block scheduling (self-scheduling not indicated) Call Requirements - Weeknight Call: 4 days/month, 5:30 PM – 7:00 AM - Weekend Call: At least 1 weekend day/month (Saturday or Sunday), 24-hour call (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM) - Holiday Call: Department closed on major holidays; on-call coverage as needed - Call Response Time: 30 minutes Floating Requirements - No floating to SPD required Scrub Color/Dress Code - Scrubs are provided Orientation - Starts with Nurse Educator: Fit testing, net learning modules - 3-Day Unit-Specific Orientation: Focused on ortho, general surgery, and endoscopy KT4H259 About Talent4Health A leader and innovator, offering comprehensive talent solutions for the healthcare industry across the nation.
