Certifications: BLS Certification, NIHSS Must-Have: - 2 years of
experience minimum - No previous license hits Description: The unit
consists of 30 beds with a focus on neuro and telemetry patients.
The patient population includes post-ictal seizure patients and new
strokes requiring neuro checks every two hours. Providers will care
for patients who are status post TPA/TNK, craniectomies, burr
holes, and elective VEEG where seizures are induced on the unit.
There may be management of amiodarone and diltiazem drips, as well
as care for patients post-cardiac cath, PM/ICD placement, and
ablations. IVIG and plasmapheresis patients are also cared for in
this setting. Overflow MedSurg patients may be admitted as needed.
Candidates should be well-versed in cardiac arrhythmias and up to
date on EKG competencies. Requirement for certifications includes
completion of 8 hours of neuro education annually. Call will be
required as needed. Holidays and weekends will be required in
