Physician Assistant | Surgery - Cardiothoracic Location: Camp Murray, WA Employer: Lancesoft Inc Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position We are urgently seeking two experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery APPs (NP/PA) to start ASAP (pending credentialing) for a high-paying locum opportunity in Tacoma, Washington . This is a robust inpatient role working alongside a strong, established surgical team. Position Overview Role: Locum NP/PA – Cardiothoracic Surgery Location: Tacoma, WA Setting: Inpatient FTE: 1.0 Start: ASAP (pending credentialing) EMR: EPIC Support Staff: RN Schedule & Call Monday–Friday: 3–4 days/week Hours: Typically 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (not shift-based; may extend) Call: Weekday call: 1:6 Weekend call: 1:4 Call days may be 10–12 hours Weekend call typically 6–8 hours/day , census dependent Pager coverage required for 24 hours on call days Requirements Clinical Responsibilities Pre- and post-operative patient evaluation and management OR First Assist ICU & step-down unit management Daily rounds, discharge summaries, and patient care coordination Emergent floor procedures (chest tubes, arterial lines, etc.) Evening, night, and weekend surgeries as needed Weekend patient rounds Walk-in/urgent clinic visits when primary surgeon unavailable Clinic wound checks as needed Surgical Case Mix CABG and all valve surgeries Minimally invasive valve procedures Aortic reconstruction & aortic arch reconstruction Robotic-assisted thoracic surgery VATS & DaVinci robotic thoracic procedures Thoracic and foregut surgeries Endoscopic vein harvest Open radial artery harvest Case Volume: 6–8 cardiac cases/week 9–12 thoracic cases/week ~20 adult patients per day Team Structure 5 permanent surgeons (3 cardiac, 2 thoracic) 4 mid-levels (3 PA, 1 NP, plus 1 in training) Requirements: Board Certified NP or PA (Required) Minimum 3 years Cardiothoracic Surgery experience (Required) Washington license preferred (IMLC considered) ACLS, BLS, DEA (Required) Benefits Travel, Lodging and Malpractice Coverage.
