Job Description JOB SUMMARY Onsite position. On-call rotation
requires staff to be within 1 hour travel time to WhidbeyHealth,
101 N Main St., Coupeville, WA. The Clinical Informatics
Specialist-Senior is a Meditech EHR Subject Matter Expert (SME) and
reports to the Manager, Clinical Informatics and Applications. The
Clinical Informatics Specialist-Senior will partner with IT
leadership, providers and clinical staff, stakeholders, and
technical solution providers to design, implement, and optimize
workflows, and support and resolve issues with the Expanse EHR and
other clinical systems. This position will create project plans,
define scope, identify and evaluate options, and implement
solutions for new projects and tasks. This position will support
the core functions of the Meditech Expanse EHR and other enterprise
clinical applications and systems. PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS includes the
following, other duties may be assigned: - Uses clinical knowledge
of patient care & combines with informatics concepts such as
collaborating with healthcare professionals on clinical
applications, systems, and solutions to facilitate quality driven,
accurate and efficient design / build. - Conducts assessments of
current workflow(s) and enhances, creates, and optimizes workflow
solution(s) that are compliant with government regulations, and /
or evidenced based practice that improves clinical workflow
efficiencies, documentation quality, and improves patient safety. -
Facilitate or lead design sessions that promote overall team
consensus and collaboration across all affected business units to
optimize, develop, design, build and implement application and
system changes that are integrated solutions for WhidbeyHealth and
minimizes overall patient & organizational risks. - Build clinical
content within clinical information applications and systems to
match desired & approved design. - Test new clinical content build
changes, and vendor updates and upgrades to ensure and verify error
free and applicable integration with other business units /
systems. - Provide new employee clinical applications and systems
education and at the shoulder support as needed during regular
clinical rounds. - Provide and use problem solving techniques to
troubleshoot application, system, and clinical workflow issues,
escalating issues appropriately and in a timely manner. - Ensure
EHR compliance with regulatory requirements related to Health IT
(e.g. 21st Century Cures Act, Promoting Interoperability, MIPS). -
Performs EHR system takedown and restore procedures as needed for
server maintenance and updates. - Routinely reviews, updates and
provides change control in EHR vendor’s customer service
application - Participate in the development and enforcement of IT
/ clinical informatics policies and procedures. - Participation in
departmental on-call rotation schedule. JOB KNOWLEDGE &
QUALIFICATIONS Training and Experience: - Clinical
background/experience in nursing is preferred but not required. -
Candidates must have expert-level technical knowledge of Meditech
Expanse with significant Meditech EHR experience in a hospital and
ambulatory organization. - Meditech Expanse expertise and
experience in acute and ambulatory required. - Acute and Ambulatory
- ten years’ demonstrable SME experience, preferred. - Critical
Acute and Ambulatory (Meditech Expanse) skill sets and expertise: -
EHR build, implement, and train - Clinical decision support tools -
Data driven tools (ex: BCA, FSD) and report development - EHR
Functionality - Acute workflows - Acute best practices - Meditech
Expanse RCM and PFS expertise preferred. - Project Management
Leadership - five years’ experience leading complex health
technology projects with minimal direction, preferred. - Execute
risk assessment, manage milestones, and manage resources to
complete projects on-time and on-budget. - ID Meditech technical,
application, and/or interface requirements. - Understand and
evangelize project management principles and techniques. - Clinical
Informatics. - 5 years’ clinical informatics experience required. -
Informatics or Health IT certification (e.g. NI-BC, CPHIMS, or
CAHIMS), preferred. - Candidates that are not certified should be
prepared to obtain certification within 24 months of employment.
Licensed RN: Education - Required: Graduate of an accredited school
of nursing. - Preferred: MSN and/or degree in informatics. License:
- Active WA State RN License or Active Multistate License (MSL),
preferred. - MSL Requirements: - Approved 6-Hour Suicide Prevention
Training Course Completion - Screenshot of submitted demographic
data using the Washington State Multistate Nurse Demographic Data
Survey. Non-Licensed RN: Education - Required: Bachelor’s degree in
Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, OR
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. - Preferred: Master’s
degree in Informatics or related field. Certificates, Licenses,
Registrations – Both Licensed and Unlicensed: - Project Management
Professional (PMP) Certification, preferred. - Maintain a valid WA
State Driver’s License. An out of state driver’s license will be
acceptable in conjunction with a valid US Military ID. - Current
personal auto insurance and is insurable with the District’s
insurance carrier. - Washington State driving record upon hire and
may be subject to annual driving record checks based on facility
insurance carrier requirements. Benefit Information and Wage

information. Salary Ranges: Clinical: $99,750 - $139,847.40
Non-Clinical: $89,250 - $110,250.00
