Job DescriptionThe successful candidate in this position will learn to possess key skills and experience which include knowledge of international import transportation. This is a temporary to hire position and will require excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task along with producing accurate workflow in a fast-paced, high-pressure freight forwarding operations environment while positively contributing to the success of the team.     • Coordinating shipment bookings, tracking, and updating the status of shipments on a daily basis
    • Ensuring accurate and timely data entry into the CargoWise operating system
    • Maintains effective communication with customers, vendors, other Vantec Hitachi Transport offices, and co-workers through a high volume of e-mails, phone calls and in- person
    • Liaising with third parties to move goods (by road, rail or sea) in accordance with customer requirements
    • Working closely with customers, colleagues and third parties to ensure smooth operations to deadlines
    • Managing multiple customers across the globe coordinating shipments between multiple carriers and modes of transportation
    • Investigating and planning the most appropriate route for a shipment, taking into account the nature of the goods, cost, transit and time
    • Monitoring of reports on a weekly basis
    • Ensuring accurate and timely billing to customers
    • Meeting key performance indicators to support the department, branch, product and overall company goals
    • Understanding the operational process flow and constantly seeking ways to improve for efficiency

        • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
        • High school diploma / GED
        • Minimum 1 year operational freight forwarding experience preferred but not required
        • Effective, clear, and concise communication skills
        • Detail oriented with ability to solve problems independently as well as in a team environment
        • Demonstrated experience interacting, developing and maintaining customer relationships
        • Proven success in and improving quality, service, safety and client relationship in a fast-paced high-pressure setting
        • Proven competencies in Microsoft Office products
        • Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and regulations (OSHA)
