Boeing Commercial Airplanes Mechanical Systems Design is seeking an Experienced Systems Technical Designer to be located in Everett, or Renton, WA. The candidate will mentor and coach lesser experienced technicians and engineers providing knowledge transfer to aid in growing our next generation of technicians and engineers. The candidate will provide engineering and technical decisions for Boeing commercial aircraft (737, 767, 787 and 777), or all-new airplanes(s) that are currently in early development states. Main area of focus will be to interpret and develop design requirements based on technical data to ensure compliance to Boeing and FAA electrical requirements. Assignments will provide an excellent opportunity to learn mechanical systems on the various platforms.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development and maintenance of mechanical drawings, systems designs or engineering documentation and data by applying Company, industry and governmental standards.
  • Uses basic design tools to prepare documentation and incorporates basic design changes.
  • Supports systems design by preparing design layouts, modifying existing designs and completing assigned tasks.
  • Supports engineering system design and functionality validation activities.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of moderately-complex product installation designs and part designs.
  • Supports coordination with internal partners and external suppliers.
  • Works under engineering supervision to configure and perform lab testing. This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
    • Associate's Degree
    • 3+ years of CAD/CAM modeling and drafting of mechanical details and assemblies such as brackets, ducts or tubes.
    • 1+ year of interpreting and designing to GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5 for drawings and ASME Y14.41 for CAD/CAM models).
    • 1+ year of experience creating and managing configuration through Product Lifecycle Management platforms. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
      • Experience with tube routing and FT&A workbenches in CATIA V5.
      • Experience with ENOVIA and Siemens Teamcenter PLM platforms.
      • Experience managing large CAD assemblies and respective geometry and Bill of Materials
      • 3+ Years of experience of proven technical experience in aerospace or other mechanical engineering industries
      • Familiarity with Model Based Engineering Typical Education/Experience:

        Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor +1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).
