You will develop and optimize advanced game development and game engine technologies that drive real-time simulation, immersive training, and critical mission planning capabilities. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise and creative problem-solving skills as you contribute to national defense initiatives while pushing the boundaries of mixed reality. You might be a fit for this role if: You recognize the performance gaps in existing game engines and want to lead the emergence of new 3D creation engines Recognize that AI is a major accelerator to the game creation process, and experimenting with emerging technologies and frameworks to revolutionize engine capabilities and user experiences excites you You believe the future of game engines should be highly modular, built on microservices and API’s, allowing developers to assemble the right engine for the project at hand and quickly You obsess over technical advancement and what this means for game engines of the present and the future WHAT YOU WILL DO Work with one of the industries strongest mixed reality teams to change the landscape for MR on the frontlines and beyond Drive prototyping initiatives to experiment with revolutionary mixed reality concepts that set new industry standards Act as the technical advisor and visionary for a business line that is integral to Anduril’s success Design, development, and enhance game engine components tailored for mixed reality applications Optimize rendering pipelines, physics simulations, and real-time interactions to deliver high-performance immersive experiences Collaborate with AR/VR specialists to integrate mixed reality sensors, displays, and spatial mapping capabilities Implement robust pipelines that transform raw sensor data into actionable, immersive visuals for the warfighter Partner with product managers, hardware engineers, and warfighter subject matter experts to translate mission requirements into practical, scalable solutions Mentor team members and foster best practices in code quality, performance testing, and game engineering architecture Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and frameworks within the game engine ecosystem REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 8-10 years of experience in game development, computer graphics, or real-time simulation Strong proficiency in C++ or C# and familiarity with graphics APIs (DirectX, OpenGL, or Vulkan), as well as Unity or Unreal engine Experience with shader programming and multi-threaded rendering pipelines Experience working in large codebases to solve complex problems in a matter of days and weeks, not months A track record of success in the gaming industry, with experience building and shipping code in a matter of days and weeks, not years Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross functionally with stakeholders and Executive leaders Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Ideal if you have both AR/VR experience and working with DoD/Army Experience developing on console platforms Shipped at least one AAA game title in a similar role Understanding of immersive technologies and sensor integration is a plus Demonstrated experience or strong interest in developing mixed reality or simulation applications US Salary Range $220,000 - $292,000 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
