Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field. 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. Experience in one or more of the following: data analytics, apache iceberg, distributed databases, SQL, data warehousing, database internals. Experience building transaction processing systems (Online Transactional Processing (OLTP)) or large-scale analytics (Online Analytical Processing (OLAP)). Experience building data warehousing systems (e.g., Spark, BigQuery etc.). Experience architecting and developing large-scale distributed systems. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$252,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Deliver features end-to-end across the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) tech stack. Analyze CPU and latency performance to identify bottlenecks and estimate beneficial impact. Propose technical solutions and help build consensus on technical strategy. Drive the rollout to production. Propose solutions and detailed designs, help drive consensus on the right trade-offs, write well-optimized C++ code, and land your optimizations in Google-internal and Cloud production environments.
