Job Description:
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery,
and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words,
we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS
data centers and all of th servers, storage, networking, power, and
cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access
to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging
problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain —
and we’re looking for talented people who want to help. You’ll join
a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply
chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other
vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us
deliver the highest standards for safety and security while
providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost
for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that
welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion. AWS
is seeking an exceptional individual to join the Global Project
Standards - New Construction (GPS-NC) team as a Technical
Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM). TIPMs are responsible for
driving programs and initiatives that impact our DCCD teams and
stakeholders. These efforts drive operational standardization,
efficiency, and innovation, while ensuring DCCD teams are
maintaining the highest level of safety and security standards.
TIPMs take on large, ambiguous problems, identify and develop
solutions, and lead their implementation and adoption. Ongoing
support includes owning program communication, records, and
reporting; proactively identifying and remediating risks and
vulnerabilities to program operations; and tracking compliance with
organizational changes. Key job responsibilities • Writing
narratives that define program requirements and desired end-states
to gain buy-in and approval from DCCD leadership. • Developing
program documentation, including statements of work, responsibility
matrices, functional and design specifications, implementation
approach, metrics, and reporting. • Owning and managing program
communications, including delivering program status reports,
metrics reports, and business reviews. Serve as the first point of
contact for programs. • Developing program milestones and plans,
securing resources and assigning responsibilities, and driving
schedules to ensure timely and successful program delivery. •
Accelerating program progress by driving crisp and timely
decisions, mitigating risks, clearing blockers, and escalating
appropriately. • Applying process improvement methodologies to
drive efficiency in procedures and tools, including defining and
clarifying business procedures and process requirements. • Managing
post-launch support plans, including managing workflows, issues,
tickets, Correction of Errors (COEs), and post-mortems. Developing
mechanisms to automate or eliminate post-launch support as
necessary. • Working directly with technical managers, engineers,
and partner teams to set program priorities, secure resources,
execute work, and drive delivery. • Support and manage the roadmap
for a program, including yearly projects and organizational goals.
