Job Description:
Clean Harbors, a leader in environmental and industrial
services, is seeking a dedicated Vacuum Truck Driver to join our
team. This role is critical as it involves the safe and efficient
operation of vacuum trucks, servicing a variety of clients within
the energy and utilities sector. The ideal candidate will ensure
the safe transportation and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous
waste, contributing to our mission of environmental protection and
sustainability. Safely operate vacuum trucks to transport hazardous
and non-hazardous waste from client sites to designated facilities.
Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of equipment and maintain
cleanliness and functionality. Adhere to all local, state, and
federal regulations regarding waste transportation, including DOT
guidelines. Manage and maintain accurate logs and documentation for
compliance and reporting purposes. Work closely with dispatch and
logistics teams to ensure timely service and route optimization.
Provide excellent customer service, maintaining professionalism and
integrity in all interactions. Respond to emergency calls as
needed, participating in spill responses. Participate in training
and safety meetings to ensure up-to-date knowledge of industry
practices and standards. Experience in operating vacuum trucks
and/or similar heavy equipment. Knowledge of hazardous materials
handling, waste disposal protocols, and emergency response. Strong
navigational and driving skills. Ability to work independently and
make decisions under pressure. Excellent verbal communication
abilities and detailed reporting skills. Physical fitness, as the
job requires handling heavy equipment and working in diverse
environments. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance
Life Insurance 401k Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with
hazardous materials and tank vehicle endorsements. OSHA Hazardous
Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification
preferred. DOT medical card.
