Job Description:
The YWCA- Seattle- King - Snohomish GENDER BASED VIOLENCE
SPECIALIZED SERVICES (GBVSS) provides services to adult survivors
of commercial sexual exploitation. YWCA GBVSS program mission is to
address the needs of survivors in the sex trade throughout Seattle
and South King County. CSE Advocate will provide outreach, direct
services and support groups, to assist survivors. Safety planning,
connection to resources, life skills, tailored by using a model of
best practice trauma informed care with a strength-based approach
and culturally relevant. We are seeking to fill two CSE Advocate
positions.This position has a social justice component that
requires critical thinking through the lens of racism and
intersections with poverty. Knowing the core principals of
antiracism and grounding those principles in everyday work are

with live experience.Responsibilities:* Support the survivors
immediate needs (e.g. food, personal hygiene products, bus tickets,
clothes) or items which enhances the client's stability and
self-sufficiency (e.g. trade/employment training classes)* Work in
partnership with City of Seattle and King County Adult Survivors
Collaborative, * Attend regular schedules meetings to provide
updates and establish and strengthen partnerships with Seattle and
King County system stakeholders and service providers serving
survivors of commercial sexual exploitation* Stay current with
knowledge of all community resources relevant to meet survivor
needs * Maintain CSE office cleanliness to adhere to CDC COVID-19
safety standards* Participate in all staff meetings and trainings
as assigned* Develops ongoing referral relationships with health,
legal and social service system* Provides education on CSE to
victims, community groups, agencies and marginalized populations in
Seattle and South King County* Co-facilitate support groups in
Seattle and South King County* Provide both agency and street
outreach.* Maintains accurate client files and conducts timely data
collection and contract reporting* Shows demonstrated ability to
interact with people of different cultures* Implement all work by
incorporating the YWCA's Social Justice Initiative by understanding
how racism, sexism, classism and other oppressions intersect and
are embedded in all institutions and systems* Provide culturally
relevant advocacy and client assistance for survivors of commercial
sexual exploitation. Advocacy may include but is not limited to:
information and referral, intake/assessment/goal planning and case
management, co-advocacy with other agencies/social service
providers, job/life skills training, education and/or obtaining a
GED, health and medical care assistance.* Adhere to all Volunteer
Services protocol relative to volunteer usage, recognition and
monitoring* Attend required safety trainings and meetings; follow
all safety and health guidelines, standards, practices, policies
and procedures; and actively participate in the agency's Emergency
Preparedness program and activities* This position description
generally describes the principle functions of the position, the
level of knowledge and skills typically required and the general
scope of responsibility. It is not intended as a complete list of

an all-inclusive listing of work requirements. Individuals will
perform other duties as assignedQualifications & Core
Competencies:* One year of experience in working with survivors of
the sex trade, domestic violence, sexual assault and other
vulnerable populations.* A degree in human services or related
field and at least one year of direct social service experience; or
translatable lived experience skills considered in lieu of degree.
* Demonstrated understanding of the intersection of racism and
poverty and foster diversity, and social justice advocacy PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS* Completion of a minimum of twenty hours of initial
basic training that covers: advocacy based counseling; history of
domestic violence; confidentiality and ethics; client safety
planning, and crisis intervention; providing services and advocacy
to individuals from diverse communities; policies and procedures
for GBVSS service.* Advocates working with survivors of commercial
sexual exploitation are also required to attend an additional 24
hours of training on human trafficking and/or commercial sexual
exploitation* Ability to respond to 24-hour hotline as assigned,
and work every other Saturday and some evenings.* Experience
working with population that are furthest from opportunities.
(Specifically women of color)* Must have strong knowledge and
experience in maintaining confidentiality.* Strong orientation
toward advocacy, with ability to navigate multiple systems (i.e.,
human services, health, law enforcement etc.) * Core competencies
expected: discernment/judgment, professional boundaries,
organizational understanding, strong communication both oral and
written,* Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and
cellphone text* Knowledge of community resources, confidence to
handle complicated situations* Ability and willingness to work
independently and as part of a team* Ability to make sound judgment
without direct supervision* Must maintain 25 hours of continued
education hours on advocacy based GBVSS.* Vehicle with valid WA
State drivers license and auto insurance; candidate must be able to
travel independently between multiple work sites within a day*
Demonstrated commitment to anti-racist principles* Experience
working with communities of color and people from different
cultures than your own* Demonstrated understanding of the
intersection of racism and poverty* Demonstrated knowledge and
skills of basic computer competencies such as emailing,
calendaring, entry-level data entry and familiarity with Microsoft

result, staff are at risk of secondary trauma. Employees are
