All other global Boeing locations do not have a vaccination requirement at this time.
Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Design and Analysis Engineer to join the Wedgetail Phase 5A Team, within the Airborne Surveillance Command and Control (ASC2) Mission Systems organization. This position is located in Kent, WA.

Objectives of the Wedgetail Phase 5A program include upgrade of major airborne and ground-based systems. The US-based team is managed by Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C), a unit of Boeing Aircraft Modernization and Modification (AMM), the E-7 is the world's most advanced, capable and reliable command-and-control system. A unit of The Boeing Company and headquartered in St. Louis, BDS is one of the world's largest defense, space and security businesses specializing in innovative and capabilities-driven customer solutions, and the world's largest and most versatile producer of military aircraft and commercial/civil/government space systems.

Position Responsibilities:
Leads mission systems hardware and software integration lab plan. - Phase 5A relies on a System Integration Lab (SIL) and a Software Development Lab (SDL) to complete our portion of the statement of work in this compliance upgrade. - The SIL contains a large portion of the aircraft similar mission computing hardware as well as an array of simulation hardware and software. - The SIL is used to test code and hardware prior to delivery to the customer. - The SDL contains a software development environment supported by IT and engineering owned hardware.
Be part of a multi-disciplinary team in the design, development, integration, test, certification, and delivery of AEW&C Wedgetail jets for the Phase 5A program to the Commonwealth of Australia. The Phase 5A program is a major upgrade to the Wedgetail system including IFF, mission navigation, datalinks, communications, and mission computing.
Development of new capability and maintenance of existing capability in mission systems labs (SIL & SDL).
Troubleshoot and resolve lab software and hardware issues as they arise.
Identify opportunities to improve the lab system performance and maintenance.
Support development and execution of critical tests to validate performance of designs to requirements.
Integrate secure area requirements from: hardware and software engineering, cyber security and information technology.
Support project management by providing coordinating development of work statement, budget, schedules and other required inputs and conducting appropriate program reviews.
Create new tools to improve management of projects.
Ability to learn and apply advanced knowledge of electronic/electrical systems or subsystems and components including operating principles, design variables, performance, and key interfaces.
Ability to work in Redhat Linux and Microsoft operating systems.
Ability to work with multiple virtual teams in multiple locations in Australia and the United States. Requires flexibility and accommodation for different cultures and time zones.

This position requires travel (foreign and domestic) for short and extended periods. Travel is expected to be approximately 5%.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. - An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science
3 or more years of experience in mission systems hardware or software
3 or more years of Project Management experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Active U.S. Security Clearance
Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry
ABET accreditation is preferred
Experience with the AEW&C system
PMP Certification

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
