MHE Operator - Renton
FULL-TIME

$21.75/hr

POSITION SUMMARY
The Material Handler works with minimum supervision as a member of a team to receive our Client's product from around the world and to transport product to our Client's customers. The Material Handler operates industrial trucks to move materials around a warehouse, placing product in stock, picking and loading product onto carriers, storage or similar location.

--- Operates a lift truck by driving backwards and twisting to be able to look in the direction of travel on a continual basis.
--- Operates a lift truck all shift.
--- Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment, such as cleaning or recharging batteries, and refer defects or repairs to supervisor/maintenance.
--- Moves controls to drive battery-powered lift trucks and transports materials between loading, unloading, processing, and storage areas.
--- Moves levers and controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams and swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
--- Positions lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and secure material or products for transport to designated areas.
--- Manually loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, or lifting devices.
--- Reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
--- Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
--- Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.

Unloader -
--- Unloads products from inbound carriers (truck and rail cars).
--- Verifies that the product received is identified and counted accurately.
--- Inspects condition of all received product.
--- Moves and places product safely and securely in its proper storage location.

Preloader -
--- Receives and reads preload orders.
--- Fills orders by accurately picking product from storage and staging that product on a spot utilizing stacking guidelines.
--- Inspects and loads trucks and arranges the products with the cube of the trailer according to recommended loading practices and guidelines.
--- Uses scanning devise and computer as needed to perform tasks.
--- Checks printout for shortages, over-counts and incorrect model numbers.
Corrects shortages, over-counts and incorrect models where possible.

Truck Loader -
--- Inspects trailers before loading products.
--- Counts units on preload spot and compares with shipping documents.
--- Moves products from the preload spot, and directly from storage when required, into the trailer.
--- Arranges the products within the cube of the trailer according to recommended loading practices and guidelines.
--- Properly secures the load for travel.

Shift start: 5:30AM or 8:00AM
Shift length: 8 - 12 hours
