calling a Senior People Analyst. This is a remote position.
Candidates for this position may live in any of our six footprint
states including Alaska, Washington, Montana, Oregon, California
and Texas. We are seeking a Senior People Analyst to support the
Workforce Intelligence team by classifying business problems; by
gathering and performing analysis on business and workforce data;
and by summarizing results in a compelling manner that allows
Providence leaders to take action. The People Analyst Sr. serves as
a front-line researcher that will be responsible for experimental
design, identifying deficiencies in existing data sets, and
exploring out-of-the-box approaches to answer complicated
questions. The People Analyst Sr. will be expected to help senior
leaders and executives understand the implications of data
analysis, suggest courses of action based on the results, and
develop tools/visualizations that allow easy ongoing tracking of
progress. This position also supports ongoing data/analytic
maturity efforts across PSJH. In this position you will have the
following responsibilities:Understand and translate both strategic
and operational business needs into testable hypothesis that drive
actionable analysis and strategic recommendations.Serve as a
subject matter expert in support of operational and strategic
workforce planning efforts; facilitate a deeper understanding of
how data can be used to support future workforce needs.Employ
statistically sound data modeling, trending, simulations, and
scenario planning techniques to support better and/or faster
decisions by organization leaders.Create, maintain, and/or identify
critical data sets that further enhance the ability to evaluate
workforce data at scale. May include data cleanup or movement
between tools, or the development of entirely new data sets.Develop
project proposals based on compelling research results and/or seek
out novel approaches to solve business problems with data.Document
variables, assumptions, and code/formula necessary to generate and
reproduce an experiment/analysis. As the subject matter expert,
clearly articulate limitations of an analysis/experiment based on
existing constraints.Create reports, visualizations and analysis
for a variety of leadership levels that facilitate evidence-based
business decisions. This includes both executive-level PowerPoint
style presentations as well as technical dashboards/charts.Remain
up-to-date on current trends/breakthroughs in people analytics
tools and technology to determine new opportunities for PSJH.Act as
a professional and technical mentor/role-model for more junior
analysts or other caregivers earlier in their data analytics
maturity; assist in ongoing training/education efforts to promote
data maturity across the organization. Required qualifications for
this position include: Bachelor's Degree in fields with a focus on
numeric literacy and/or the scientific method, such as:
mathematics, statistics, computer science, chemistry, decision
science, operations research or Industrial and Organizational
psychology or equivalent education/experience.5 years experience in
independent manipulation, research and analysis of data to test
hypothesis and generate conclusions (preferably whole-life cycle of
the scientific method).4 years experience in applying statistics
and visual display best practices to measure and communicate
process performance to non-technical audiences (preferably
including executives/senior leaders).Skill at data collection,
aggregation, and cleaning from a variety of sources at scale.Able
to generate predictions from data, preferably using a variety of
statistical techniques such as linear regression, survival
analysis/COX proportional hazards, and/or simulations.Preferred
qualifications for this position include: Master's Degree in
data-driven or research specializations such as Business Analytics,
I/O Psychology, Statistics, Chemistry, etc. or equivalent
education/experience.2 years experience using modern data
visualization and analysis tools/coding languages to manipulate
data at scale (e.g. Tableau, Visier, R, Python).2 years experience
in a multi-site healthcare environment and/or business
environment.2 years experience in communication of prediction
confidence to non-expert audiences when answering questions with no
explicit answer (e.g. variability of future predictions).Able to
translate high-level business strategies or questions into testable
hypothesis and test those hypothesis.Knowledge of the employee life
cycle as it pertains to key people analytics and human capital
analytics (e.g. turnover/retention, labor costs, engagement).Able
to investigate past surface level questions/data to ensure the
whole story is explored (curious mindset).About the department you
