This position is currently 100% remote, but post Covid, will work part remote/part in the office each week.We are seeking a Principal Reimbursement BI Data Analyst who will be an advanced level individual contributor that is part of the Reimbursement Financial reporting team specializing in revenue analysis. The Reimbursement team is responsible for all accounting and analytics regarding revenue for PSJH's $24b revenue portfolio. The Principal Reimbursement BI Data Analyst is responsible for providing back and front end design, development, testing, training and deployment data support to all reimbursement pillars including data extracts, complex analysis, and forward looking analytics in partnership with other Finance, Revenue Cycle, Payor Contracting, IT, Security and HI departments. This role will also help leadership prioritize projects for the successful execution and deployment of those solutions based on the team's resource availability and the organizations objectives. Requires expert knowledge, skills and abilities in the areas of Finance, Reimbursement and Revenue Cycle Reporting, Analysis, Organization Hierarchy, Organizational Crosswalks/Mapping, Reporting Hierarchy, on-premise and cloud-based systems, security, access and data staging across multiple EMR and Finance systems and regions. This role will be heavily focused on data staging, data manipulation, data cleansing, analysis at scale, and process optimization and will serve as a liaison to other IT and Healthcare intelligence teams. Responsible for transforming data into information, as well as providing insights into changes in business for now and into the future. This role will serve as the principle or lead BI Data Analyst for researching and developing new and emerging technologies and solutions that will enable scalable, secure and user friendly adoption of those tools, technologies and platforms. This role designs, develops, deploys and supports sustainable BI solutions such as dashboards, scorecards and various other forms of data visualization and will act as the sign-off or approver of new solutions prior to production deployments to ensure quality and scalable solutions. The incumbent performs all duties in a manner that promotes PSJH mission, values, and philosophy. In all aspects, he/she serves as a role model for the values and mission of the organization. This Industry Expert will be responsible for leading others on the team to apply their knowledge, technique, or expertise to support the organizations vision and strategic direction. Leads other BI developers and analysts in developing processes and data flows via architecture guidance, design, code reviews and estimation, planning and assignments for incoming project requests. Initiates peer code reviews, development of standards, guidelines and best practices for use of certain tools, technologies and techniques. In collaboration with management and other IT teams, this role will help establish best practices and standards for exporting data to 3rd party vendors and/or consultant companies for any projects where we need to send data outside our Providence St. Joseph networks. This requires knowledge in data security and SFTP transmission policies and procedures.In this position you will have the following responsibilities:Lead analyzing complex revenue streams and drawing conclusion regarding key drivers. Align solutions with other departments data needs and emerging new technologies. Support other pillars of reimbursement by proving data extracts, data analysis, process design, and logical model development. Serve as a lead liaison between the Reimbursement Department and Payor Contracting, IT, Security, Compliance and HI teams. Lead the design, development, testing and deployment of tools for end user that allow end users that do not understand "big data" structures to use and analyze large amounts of complex data in quick and meaningful sessions. Communicate operational results to levels of leadership ranging from local leadership to senior and executive system leadership and recommend changes to operations system initiatives that can improve and monitor organizational performance. Approve recommended processes within finance to identify inefficiencies that transition tasks into data driven approaches. Lead evaluations and preparation of various reimbursement optimization strategies and makes recommendations that positively impact existing reimbursement schemes. Lead special projects and provide analytical support for Reimbursement, Finance and Revenue Cycle leadership. Keeps the Manager apprised of issues within the office and seeks assistance in a timely manner such that critical deadlines are kept. Direct leadership and training provided to other analyst levels. Assist manager / director in managerial tasks as assigned. Provide inspiration from leadership perspective for innovative outside the box thinking to streamline complex tasks into scalable, data driven solutions. Accomplish technical reviews and evaluate developer deliverables for correctness, consistency, and completeness as related to solution architecture and shall recommend changes as appropriate to Reimbursement leadership. Design, develop, test and deploy data warehousing/business intelligence toolsets to gather, store, and provide access to data for Finance/Reimbursement management decision making. This role also designs, develops, tests, deploys and supports complex measure algorithms in the form of advanced SQL scripts and database queries. Gain consensus and agreement with business units and senior management to conduct needs assessment to support organization strategies, tactics, and learning solutions that support Finance/Reimbursement and Revenue Cycle Objectives. Prioritizes/assigns complex and advanced data manipulation tasks using available and most appropriate data management tools such as SAP HANA, Lumira, WEBI, Tableau, Informatica, TFS or SQL queries and database stored procedures. Development and maintenance of MS Access database platform and Visual Basic concepts and code. May be required to participate in an on-call rotation to respond to and fix data refresh and application functionality issues as needed for our automated systems and the business users we support. Required qualifications for this position include: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Science, Business Information Systems or Mathematics/Statistics or equivalent education/experience.3 years SQL and/or other data query and analysis tools experience.3 years Big data analysis and architecture experience. Epic Clarity Certification.Preferred qualifications for this position include:Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Science, Business Information Systems or Mathematics/Statistics or equivalent education/experience.7 years of demonstrated experience in the healthcare finance, data analytics or related field.About the department you will serve.
