Requisition Summary

The Software Quality Supervisor works within the PACCAR Embedded Engineering organization and is responsible for championing continuous improvement and quality of embedded software development in such areas as vehicle security, functional safety, processes, and tools. PACCAR Embedded Engineering is a rapidly expanding organization that is transforming the way software is developed for commercial vehicle applications. You will collaborate with an international, cross-functional team from manufacturing, service, product development, information technology, suppliers, and product validation. Job Functions / Responsibilities
* Supervising daily activities of team members, tracking and reporting progress against plans in support of security, quality, functional safety, and process improvement initiatives
* Support team in developing and executing vehicle security, quality and functional safety strategies from concept to production
* Lead North America input into PACCAR global Functional Safety activities specified in Corporate Standards
* Lead updates to software development process standards to incorporate current best practices in secure development techniques and tools
* Maintain ISAC (industry-wide Information Sharing and Analysis Center) communications to support risk and threat knowledge sharing
* Coordinate escalation-level support for critical issues affecting program deliverables
* Ensure continuous improvement of quality and reliability for all software development activities
* Collaborate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team of software development, electrical and mechanical engineering, manufacturing, information technology and other professionals to ensure secure, quality software and safe operation of vehicle systems
* Collaborate with corporate purchasing and supplier quality to establish standard contract terms and assessments that enhance cyber-security in the supply chain
* Coordinate with suppliers as needed to ensure externally sourced software complies with PACCAR functional safety and security requirements
* Staff selection, training, development, and support to continuously improve the team's quality, productivity, and efficiency
* Up to 15% travel, including international

Qualifications
* Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, lean, collaborative team environment
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and planning/tracking skills
* Competency with standard office software (word processing, spreadsheets, etc.)
* Able to learn and use new processes and techniques and resourcefully solve complex technical issues
* Demonstrated success in managing multiple, technically complex, simultaneous projects while responding to dynamically shifting priorities
* Willingness to grow continuously, both personally and professionally and a strong orientation to reliability, value, and quality in all aspects of work
* Knowledge of Six-Sigma tools and techniques with evidence of process improvements

Desired Skills/Attributes
* 5+ years' experience in automotive or commercial vehicle systems, including software, electronic controls, switches, driver input devices, and/or HMI is preferred
* Awareness of heavy duty commercial truck operations and regulations, especially affecting instrumentation, emissions, safety, On Board Diagnostics, and other areas of embedded system focus
* Knowledge of ISO26262 and ASPICE is preferred
* Experience in agile work environments preferred
* Experience with Application Lifecycle Management and System Modeling tools such as IBM DNG, IBM Rational Rhapsody, IBM Rational Team Concert preferred
* Experience with structured product development processes
* Automotive electronic systems engineering skills including multiplex communication systems (especially CAN/J1939), architecture, and control system design and analysis
* Experience in embedded system cyber-security very highly valued
