Omron Automation is looking for a focused Buyer, Engineering for a hybrid position to work remotely and travel to the office once a month for a week in Renton, WA or Amherst, NH. Supporting the Engineering teams developing OMRON's Machine Vision, Auto ID, and sensor technology into our next generation of products, the New Product Introduction Buyer will drive the procurement for NPI project implementation. As the focal point on the procurement team for engineering, you will communicate the preferred supplier capabilities to the design teams and project managers throughout the NPI process. You will responsible for ensuring timely deliveries for internal customers and NPI project deliverables.   • Manage project timelines, key actions and align resources to ensure project deliverables are met
  • Be able to influence and direct coworkers to ensure projects stay on track
  • Develop/identify potential sources, support negotiations, process requisitions, place purchase orders and oversee delivery of goods and services to meet project delivery dates.
  • Work and lead cross-functional project teams to identify requirements from procurement perspective.
  • Ability to map out processes, drive operational efficiencies and document supply chain processes
  • Ability to manage NPI projects through material lifecycle changes in coordination with engineering.Job Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or Technical, Business, Supply Chain, Finance degree with relevant experience
    • Five years of experience in purchasing for a production site, preferably in a NPI and/or OEM environment
    • Demonstrated Project Management and New Product Introduction skills
    • Seven years of experience utilizing MS Office products and ERP systems, with a preference for SAP, Oracle, JDE, and Agile
    • Proven strength in organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
