TITLE: Process Improvement Consultant, Sr JOB OVERVIEW: Coach and mentor teams across Valley Medical Center through Improvement efforts using Process Improvement and Change Management principles. Lead cross-functional and enterprise-wide projects that support our "Patients are First" mission. Contribute to the growth and development of the Process Improvement team and support the spread of our Process Improvement Methodology through teaching, coaching, and mentoring others. Facilitate teams at every level of the organization, from front-line staff to VP and above, both clinical and non-clinical, to implement and test changes that lead to improvements in Safety, Quality, Employee Engagement, and Fiscal Responsibility using the Plan-Do-Study-Act cycle. Lead and implement Daily Management Systems in order to transform operations in support of becoming a High Reliability Organization. Focused on the development and application of three components: Strategy Deployment, Daily Improvement and Continuous Engagement. Success factors will include ability to build and maintain trusting relationships with teams and internal clients, successfully engaging people in learning new ways of thinking, and intellectual flexibility to move collaboratively between projects of different scopes and scales. AREA OF ASSIGNMENT: Process Improvement HOURS: Monday through Friday, typically 8:00 am - 5:00 pm or as needed to support department activities. RESPONSIBLE TO: Director, Process Improvement PREREQUISITES: Bachelor's degree, required. Preferably in Health Care Administration, Communication, Business, Industrial Engineering, Organizational Development, or another relevant field. An additional four years of relevant and applicable experience may substitute degree requirement. Master's degree, preferred. 5-7 years' experience in leading process improvement work, required, preferably in the healthcare setting. Computer skills - advanced knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio. Lean and Change Management related certifications preferred. Preferred expertise: Leadership development, Coaching, Process Transformation, Systems Thinking, Strategic Planning, Daily Management Systems. Proficient in Teams, Zoom & virtual meetings. Ability to work from home remotely 50% of the time. QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and lead cross-functional groups, including physicians, nurses, clinical staff, business and technical partners. Work experience in process improvement within the healthcare industry (i.e. hospitals, network, ancillary, medical facilities, healthcare vendor, health insurance companies, large physician practices, managed care organization, etc.). Experience in leading multiple enterprise-wide process improvement activities concurrently in support of organizational initiatives and hospital goals. Ability to maintain high quality work standards while managing competing demands that align with departmental and organizational objectives. Ability to work with people from diverse functional backgrounds and build relationships across the organization. Ability to work independently and collaboratively while producing tangible results. Strong customer service, organization, verbal and written communications skills. Teaches teams to use standard tools and improvement principles to observe and understand their current work as a basis for improvement. Works with teams to identify potential ways to improve or transform their work. Builds opportunities for teams to break down organizational silos that act as barriers to teamwork and collaboration. Skilled at facilitating and partnering with teams composed of a variety of disciplines, roles, and organizational levels. Partners, coaches and develops teams and leaders to understand the importance of measurement to sustainable improvements; utilizes data to support decision-making and success measures. Teaches Process Improvement, Leadership, Change Management and Problem-Solving courses. Assists with content revisions, creation of new tools and resources, and new course development.
