Job Description:
The Supervisor of Drop-In Services at the Willows Youth Services
Center provides daily leadership and operational oversight for
drop-in programming that supports youth and young adults
experiencing homelessness or housing instability. This position
supervises frontline engagement employees, ensures a
trauma-informed and youth-centered environment, and aligns service
delivery with agency policies, equity principles, and quality
standards. Working collaboratively with the Program Manager and the
Director of Shelter Services and Bridge Pointe, the Supervisor
upholds operational excellence, contract compliance, and culturally
responsive support for diverse youth populations, including LGBTQ+
youth, youth of color, and individuals with behavioral health
needs. essential duties
- Oversee day-to-day drop-in operations to ensure safe,
inclusive, and consistent service aligned with Friends of Youth's
mission and program goals.
- Coordinate onboarding, training, coaching, and mentorship of
Drop-In employees, emphasizing trauma-informed care, harm
reduction, and restorative practices.
- Maintain employee coverage by partnering with the Program
Manager to develop shift schedules that meet service needs,
ensuring holiday, weekends, and special event staffing.
- Provide supervisory support for Youth Haven and Bridge Pointe
as needed.
- Partner with the Program Manager to support retention, employee
and client engagement, strengthen strategic planning, team
performance, and continuous quality improvement.
- Lead daily debriefs and staff communication meetings to
reinforce accountability and shared learning.
- Collaborate across departments to build team capacity and
support employee development.Client-Focused Tasks
- Model youth-centered engagement and provide direct support,
de-escalation, and crisis intervention when needed.
- Ensure the drop-in space remains clean, welcoming, and well
stocked with essential resources, including food, hygiene items,
and clothing.
- Promote youth voice through advisory groups, feedback loops,
and planning of educational and life-skills activities.
- Support youth transitions to shelter, housing, or treatment
through strong referrals and warm handoffs.
- Build trusted relationships and center client autonomy in
service planning and goal setting.
- Coordinate with program staff to host community events, guest
speakers, and skill-building workshops.Record Keeping and Safety
Tasks
- Ensure timely, accurate data entry in program platforms such as
HMIS and Salesforce.
- Track and document client interactions, incidents, and safety
concerns per agency protocols.
- Maintain inventory logs and records of supply
distribution.
- Participate in audits, PCQI efforts, and contract monitoring as
requested.
- Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to identify and respond
to safety and maintenance issues.Community and Systems
Coordination
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community-based
organizations and service providers.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to increase
access to housing, education, employment, and behavioral health
resources.
- Represent the Drop-In team at employee meetings, coalition
events, and agency trainings. job requirements a. Education and
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services,
youth development, or a related field required.
- Minimum of two years of experience working with youth, ideally
within homeless services or drop-in/shelter programs.
- At least one year of supervisory or lead experience is strongly
preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and client database systems
preferred.b. Additional Requirements
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Must pass a criminal background check and TB test.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid Washington State
driver's license (or obtain by date of employment).
- Must complete CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Food
Handler's certifications within 30 days of hire.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required, per Friends of Youth
